BALCONY TV

About two weeks ago I drove to Bondi Beach to film my song No Brakin' Blues and to do a quick interview. I am super excited to post this video up, as Balcony Tv is a world wide phenomenon, filming musicians around the world…. on Balconies!! haha… but seriously… they have 30 cities in which they film and post every week!!! It just shows how full our world is of creative and musical individuals following their passion! Now if that isn't inspiring I don't know what is!?!??!

I would love for you to check out the video if you have a moment… give it a like and a share :)

Much love,

Laura xoxo

AND, it is also going to be THE CAROL for this year's Christmas Train with MAX FM, so Taree and Manning folk get ready to be SNOWFLAKED!

I feel very lucky to be a part of this project and for the chance to record with my father Matt Zarb (who is responsible for the beautiful guitar work on the song) and the fantastic Pete Stevenson!

ABC Radio Interview

I just found out I will be doing an interview on ABC Mid North Coast with Cameron Marshall to promote this weekend's Wingham Akoostic Festival!! YAY LIFE! Tune in to 95.5fm this Friday 18 OCT at 6:20am to hear a very sleepy Laura pretend to be awake!! haha

My family hits the recording studio!!!!!

We have reached 32%!!!!!

Thank you so much to every single one of you for your support. I couldn't do it without you!

Today was an amazing day for this project. My beautiful family took time out of their busy lives to come together and sing on the song Echo which I wrote for my Grandad. The picture below the microphone is of Grandad and I when I was a little munchkin.

We had so much fun, lots and laughs and multiple fantastic takes of the chorus. I am so excited that they will be a part of this song and of my album.

Can't wait to get this CD out to you!!!

The Leavey's below... Man oh man do I love my cheeky family!!!

AZTEC - FLOW - HARRIGAN'S

One of the things I missed most about America, and in particular Austin Texas when I moved back to Australia, was the lack of funky little venues. Café’s, clubs, or even book shops that had genuine atmosphere. It seemed that here in Australia, especially outside of the capitol cities, most cafés and restaurants went about as far as supplying chairs and tables (I’m assuming from Ikea) said, here’s your food, and wham bam thank you ma’am transaction done, with no thought as to giving the place a particular feel.

The last two nights I have travelled up the NSW coast and played Friday night at The Aztec, in Forster and Saturday night at Flow, in Old Bar. And FAR OUT!!! These venues are funky!!!  They are amazing supporters of travelling and local musicians, and the best part is, THEY HAVE ATMOSTPHERE!!!

Tomorrow I am heading to Harrigan’s in Harrington to play the Sunday Afternoon session from 2-5:30pm! It’s a fantastic pub with AMAZING views, and especially fantastic at sunset … (which is when I’m playing J ) Hope to see some friendly faces out there!

I’m so stoked to have played these venues and can’t wait to come back and do it all over again! Yay to funky quirky venue’s! I’m playing The Front in Canberra at the end of this month (23rd) and they’ve got their own groove going on too! Can’t wait to check it out!

Bye from Old Bar – Laura xoxo
